Virginia Brown was born in Memphis, Tennessee and traveled extensively throughout the USA and Japan with her parents while her father was in the USAF. As a child she lived in Jackson, Mississippi, a time she fondly refers to as her "formative years". It was there that she first discovered her love of writing, and was encouraged to continue by her 7th grade teacher at Chastain Junior High. After finishing high school in Memphis, she married and moved back to Mississippi to rear four children. Somewhere in the midst of diapers and dirty dishes, the writing bug bit again, and in 1983 Virginia sold her first book. Since then, she has had published over fifty novels. After starting her career in historical romance, Ms Brown now writes cozy mysteries, notably the DIXIE DIVA mystery series set in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She also wrote DARK RIVER ROAD, an award winning mainstream set in Mississippi. Ms Brown has won several awards, including Romantic Times Lifetime Achievement, and more recently, the 2013 EPIC eBook Mainstream award for DARK RIVER ROAD. Currently, Ms Brown resides in Mississippi with a furry menagerie of dogs and cats at her feet while she writes what she loves best.
