Vijay Gupta is a violinist, speaker, curator, and music director who explores the human condition through music. A MacArthur Fellow and TIME 100 Next honoree, he is the founder and Artistic Director of Street Symphony, which has delivered more than 3,000 performances in county jails, Skid Row shelters, and psychiatric hospitals across Los Angeles. A former member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, he made his international solo debut at eleven with the Israel Philharmonic under Zubin Mehta.
