Varis Ahmad is a polymath, author, esotericist, and ecologist, specializing in nutrition, history and anthropology. During his youth, Ahmad was initiated into esoteric orders where he was able to develop his philosophical and scientific understandings. He is a harsh critic of modernity due to his perspective of traditional wisdom and cultures. Owing to his philosophical, scientific, and spiritual training, he became well-acquainted with the philosophical and religious ideas of many cultures. He later went on to apply his philosophical learnings onto practical reality, when he pursued a career in regenerative ecology. Ahmad postulates that the natural world is a mirror reflection of the spiritual world. That there exists in the universe the presence of an intelligent mind which is made manifest in the intrinsic order of tangible nature. He proposes that traditional cultures across time and space were well aware of these forces, and sought to live in harmony with them, so that they may lead joyous and healthy lives. Varis Ahmad's literary work revolves around re-revealing the mind of this intelligence and the intricate order of nature to western audiences.
