Vahid Imani was born in Tehran, Iran, and made the United States his home in 1979. He earned his master’s degree in 1980 from Gonzaga University’s School of Business in Spokane, Washington. At the turn of the century, he transitioned to the world of fine arts after a career in high-tech as a business executive. His opinions and insights about the arts, history, and international politics have been shared in articles, public lectures, and mass media. In 2014, he debuted as an author with his award-winning middle-grade novel "Naji and the Mystery of the Dig". In February 2019 he released his historical thriller, "In the Shadow of the Kingmakers". In May 2020 he released his Memoir, "Like the Wind I Go, A memoir of Iran, America, my struggle to freedom" Imani is the father of three children, grandfather of three, and lives with his wife in California. What others have said: "Reading "Naji and the mystery dig", you will find how basic attributes of laughter, worry, fear, respect, love, kindness, and other human characteristics are universal no matter where we live. You will fall in love with Naji as she fascinates you." Dr. Marvin Marshall, author Parenting Without Stress "Imani in his historical thriller "In the Shadow of the Kingmakers" shows a great depth of research as he describes the warring plots of the British, American and Russian spies who fight a hidden war in 1920s Persia, bringing these men alive and making our hearts pound at their scheming." Gerald DiPego, author of novels and screenwriter for feature films including Phenomenon, Message in a Bottle, The Forgotten, Instinct, and Words and Pictures. "A strong command of language enhances this riveting true account, creating a realistic sense of immediacy as though the described events have just happened. Delving into the book is a worthwhile endeavor for any history connoisseur seeking an individualized perspective opposed to a broad-based view of Iran." The BookLife Prize
