Tricia Gates Brown
Tricia Gates Brown is an everyday theologian working as a writer and editor in the Willamette Valley of Oregon where she resides on a farm. Of her writing, the late author Brian Doyle (Mink River) opines, “An honest, piercing, blunt, lyrical, remarkable writer about the endless chambers of joy and pain in the heart.” After completing an MA in theology then a PhD from the University of St. Andrews in 2000, she continued energetically self-educating in theology, spirituality, and the emotional life, as well as honing the craft of writing. Her works include Jesus Loves Women: A Memoir of Body and Spirit, published in 2011, and the debut novel Wren (completed in 2018). She contributes regularly to her blog at triciagatesbrown.net and publishes essays in periodicals like Oregon Humanities and The Christian Century. She is working toward a vocation in spiritual care (chaplaincy).
