Tres Ferrin was born in Salt Lake City, the son of Arnie and RoLayne Ferrin. He was raised hearing stories of his father and basketball and championships. It was his hope that someone someday would write a book and do a movie of the amazing story of the 1944 University of Utah 1944 NCAA Basketball Championship team. Prodding from his youngest son Josh was the motivating factor in the two joining forces as co-authors of Blitz Kids. Film rights for the book have been optioned and a movie is currently in pre-production. Tres is a physical therapist and works in the area of sports medicine. He is an adjunct professor at Weber State University and is an avid cyclist. He and his wife Sherry have been married for 40 years have 3 children and 10 grandchildren.
