Tom Saric was born in Canada to Croatian immigrant parents. He spent his summers either on lakes in the Canadian Prairies or with family on the Dalmatian Coast. Having written screenplays throughout his teenage years and early twenties, he then transitioned to writing novels and he soon completed his first novel. This book evolved to become his second published book, Compromised, about a physician and spy working in Somalia. After he completed university, he began work on Indicted, a story of a soldier falsely accused of a war crime after the breakup of Yugoslavia.
