History and heritage tether us to the earth and make us immortal. My native Boston especially treasures family stories. Whether those stories began on the Mayflower, during the Great Migration or while escaping the 1840's Irish potato famine - origin stories remind us of our familial triumphs, pains, and struggles. They confer wisdom and gratitude. Growing up in a family hollowed out by alcoholism and violence, we had no stories. We were adrift and isolated - without the bedrock of family history to ground and comfort us. "Gifts From Prometheus" was the culmination of a two-year journey to find truth, belonging, and redemption in our family story, an effort made far more difficult by the entrenched lies of the past. I live in Amherst, New Hampshire with my wife Laura, two sons, and an ungrateful cat. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Colby College and a master's from Boston College - I became a managing partner with one of the world’s leading management consultancies. When not writing, restoring old Fords, or reflecting on the unknowable (as INFJ's are inclined to do), you'll find me on the lakes of New Hampshire or the waters of Buzzard's Bay.
