TERRY FARISH’s most recent book is a collaboration with OD Bonny and artist Ken Daley. Their book A FEAST FOR JOSEPH has been featured at The Newcomer Kitchen where refugee cooks share their traditional foods. JOSEPH’S BIG RIDE has been featured in bike shops across the country, on public radio, and the NY Times. Her novel in verse, THE GOOD BRAIDER is set in South Sudan and Portland, Maine. It is an ALA Best Book for Young Adults and An Outstanding Book for the Lifelong Learner. THE CAT WHO LIKED POTATO SOUP, illustrated by Barry Root, was a Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books Blue Ribbon Winner. Her forthcoming YA novel is from Groundwood Books in spring, 2024. GO HOME is written in two voices with Lochan Sharma whose family are Nepali-speaking refugees from Bhutan and lived at Beldangi refugee camp in Nepal. The publisher writes: “In a small New Hampshire Seacoast city, a teenaged girl’s loyalty is torn between the boy she loves and her burgeoning friendship with the son of recent immigrants from a refugee camp in Nepal. Timely, provocative – a story that cuts through political and cultural stereotypes to show the human layers underneath.” Terry was a Red Cross worker in Viet Nam during the American war. She returned to Viet Nam in 2023 and writes about her journey on her site in a series called "Letters to My Daughter." https://terryfarish.com
