T. Fox Dunham

T. Fox Dunham is an established author in multiple genres, writer of several upcoming books and over hundreds of short stories published internationally in all mediums. He has several novels coming out over the next year, and his first novel, The Street Martyr, published by Gutter Books, is being made into a major motion picture by ThroughLine Films.

Fox is a cancer survivor. At the age of 18, a golf ball grew under his ear. It took a month and two failed attempts by medical facilities, but finally the Armed Forces Medical Institute identified the cells as a rare form of lymphoma--Composite Lymphoma. It's a mix of both Hodgkin's and Large Cell Lymphoma. Only 10 people in the world have been diagnosed with this disease, and Fox is the first survivor, being treated with intense dosages of CHOP chemotherapy and 5 months of daily radiation. The treatment destroyed his body, disabling Fox, and it was a miracle that the treatment drove back the cancer. It took Fox a decade to recover, learning to walk again and function, and he suffers in terrible pain and disability. Writing became Fox's only means of escape, of getting his life back.

He pursues his spirituality as a modern Bard, a kind of Celtic shaman who uses art and a part of soul called the Awen to heal the world. He communes with nature, worshipping natural and elemental forces. His spirit guide is a Fox--an animal totem that helped him to heal.

Fox is a trained gardener, herbalist and historian. He cooks and enjoys RPG including D&D, which helped train him as an author.

After building a career writing short fiction, Fox became a recognized horror author and was inducted into the Horror Writer's Association. For his first novel, he broke away from horror and wrote a crime-thriller story set in his adopted Philadelphia. The Street Martyr was published by Gutter Books, starting with a release party in San Francisco. Fox's publisher flew him out to the west coast and paid for the trip and party.

He followed up The Street Martyr with his second book, Mercy. Mercy is a horror novel set in an infested hospital about a young cancer patient trapped in a system of violation. Mercy was accepted by Blood Bound Books and will be published in late 2016.

Perpetual Motion Machine Publishing published Dunham's novella, Doctor Kevorkian Goes to Heaven, a story about the nature of life in society, immortality and how vital death is to human nature. It's also about his battle with cancer--and life after cancer. It will be republished.

PMMP is also publishing Dunham's book, Destroying the Tangible Illusion of Reality or Searching for Andy Kaufman. This is Dunham's longest book, also about a young cancer patient who will not survive the year. Anthony discovers evidence that he is the lost son of Andy Kaufman and begins a journey with friends to discover the truth before he dies. The book questions the nature of reality, life and death and what we call the mind. It talks about the life of Andy Kaufman, who also died of cancer in May 1984--or did he? It will also be out in 2015.

The Street Martyr will be made into a major motion picture by ThroughLine Films sometime in the next two years.

Fox continues to be published in international anthologies and journals, increasing his public profile as an author. On 30th May 2015, he married Allison Ledbetter in Scotland, and now they're preparing a life.
