A born reader, Susie Flaherty began writing at an early age and has never stopped. Whether it's an engaging piece of marketing material for the Web, a thoughtful op-ed or commencement speech, a complex scientific article or a song, she has a knack for grabbing any reader's attention. The nationally award-winning higher education writer and editor enjoys extensive experience in publications production, executive public relations, and strategic communications and marketing in higher education management and private business. A speechwriter for university presidents and international bank executives, Susie has led a wide variety of marketing and strategic communications projects. As communications director of the Center for Celiac Research, she is currently promoting Dr. Fasano's work to national and international media. Her successful placements include articles on groundbreaking research studies in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, USA Today, National Public Radio, The Huffington Post and other outlets. A member of the National Association of Science Writers, Susie has received numerous awards for writing and editing. Born into a large Irish-American family, she cultivates her creative side as a singer-songwriter. One of her favorite awards is finalist for New England Songwriter of the Year in 2008.
