Hi, Amazon readers. Welcome to my first attempt at an Author's page. I am originally from Charlotte and went to West Mecklenburg High School. I graduated from UNC-G where I played a little (a very little) basketball. I served as Student Government President and was the Student Commencement Speaker for my graduation. The main speaker was Charles Kuralt. It was a hard act to follow but he was very kind. (He even wrote the my speech was better when he autographed my written speech. . .it wasn't). I enjoyed UNC-Greensboro so much that I kept coming back for degrees, including my Masters, Sixth Year Certificate and my Doctorate in Education. Ultimately, I completed 287 credit hours. The school declined to invite me to get any more courses but they did allow my sons (Jonathan and Alex) to attend and graduate from one of the prettiest campuses in North Carolina. I also met my wife there. Melanie was from Sanford, NC. We soon settled down there and I began to teach. I taught for 33 years in the Lee County Schools. This is going to sound like a trend, but I also gave two commencement speeches at Lee County High School. Since retirement I have written two books. C.W. Biggs, Country Detective is a self-published comic detective novel (Create Space) and you can still find it on Amazon. My second book is a middle grades story that I wrote for my granddaughters. It is entitled The Borrowed Princess. It, too is available on Amazon and through bookstores or you can contact me at my Facebook site The Borrowed Princess.
