I was a family man even before I had a family. Now that I do, it's even better than I expected. With three great kids and a wonderful wife, my schedule fills up fairly quickly. We spend our Saturdays at dance recitals, soccer practices, and visiting the park. In the evenings, I like reading to the kids books like The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Nickle Brickle'Bee. In another life, I think I would have made a pretty decent audible book narrator. Suffice to say, we are pretty busy. I've actually given up on writing a few times, thinking that there just was not the time. But I've always come back to it, and in large part, that's because of the support of readers. Now, I am more committed than ever to pursue my dream as a full-time author. Writing is not just a hobby for me, but a life-long passion. Since 1999, I’ve spent countless hours writing, editing, reviewing, and re-writing other author’s books as well as several of my own. I absolutely love the creative process. I get tremendous satisfaction when I create characters who seem so real that a reader expects to be able to meet them one day. Or when I manufacture a landscape so compelling that someone feels tempted to plan a visit to that location during summer vacation. But the real joy for me is constructing situations where the protagonist has hard choices to make, where internal conflicts are so intense, it makes the reader second guess exactly what they would do if they faced those same dilemmas. But, as I've said so many times before, the writing/publishing industry is extremely competitive. I've received hundreds, if not thousands, of rejection letters from publishers and literary agents alike. But its never stopped me, and I hope, if you are a writer too, it never stops you. If you have story to tell, a novel to write, a series to share, get it out there. Share it with the world. And if I can help you in your journey, let me know. The best advice I can give to a struggling author is this: never stop writing, never stop honing your craft, and never listen to those who say you will not succeed.
