Hello Readers, and Thank You for visiting my Author page. I write with a voice shaped by grit, grace, and humor, in easy conversational-style. Growing up as a small-town girl on welfare, I moved constantly—five different elementary schools in the same city—raised by a young mother who was “sort of” single (Mama was not married but Daddy was). Those early experiences inspired my first memoir, Life Is a Funny Thing. My adult life was very different. I married my high school sweetheart, built a successful career, and settled into an affluent suburb as the quintessential “soccer mom” - complete with a BMW in the driveway, housekeeper and gardeners, while never forgetting the other world I know too well. Now retired and well-traveled, I write short stories that are easy, pleasant, and reflect the resilience of everyday women, blending joy and heartbreak, transformation and laughter. Nods of respect for literary greats like Hemingway, Twain, and Steinbeck, but, I also believe there is room in literature for voices like mine. Stories shaped by real-life contrasts, the politics of laughter, and the enduring spirit of people who find strength and love in unexpected places. Often there is more to learn - so I share some jewels that aren't usually spoken, yet, we all want our daughters to know. A PERSONAL JOURNAL; 26 DAYS TRAVELING THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO - My pilgrimage journal while on the Camino De Santiago was originally intended to share only with a few close friends, who later, insisted I publish it. This was my epic post retirement adventure hiking through Spain.
