The fourth in the Samuel Wyatt Wilson series will be up shortly! Titled Alt-A, it finds Sam confronting fraud and murder during his investigation of a sub-prime mortgage originator. Answers to a few questions that I get asked a lot about my writing and my characters: 1) No, I am not Sam. Like most writers who had earlier professional careers, my work experience does inform my writing. I was in commercial and investment banking for almost 20 years. However, I never worked in the Special Assets Group that handles corporate bankruptcies like Sam does. 2) No, the plots of my book do not represent anything specific that happened during my banking career. They are the product of my imagination. Some of the sub-plots DO slightly resemble things that really occurred during my banking career. 3) Yes, some of the recurring characters like Curtis, and Sam's boss Lawson, and legal counselors Sherman and Jay do somewhat represent people I knew. The names have been changed to protect the innocent! Also, when I was a single man some 25+ years ago, I did rent a house on Lake Norman that is much like the one where Sam lives. Thanks for reading!
