Early Myths is a children's books series with beautiful illustrations inspired by some of the oldest Classical vase-paintings, sculptures and literature. The aim is to bring the oldest myth characters to junior readers, to excite and inspire young minds with the oldest tales. The collection began in 2013 and is aimed at 4-10 year olds. Most myth books are for teenagers and older, and our interest was in making the myths fun and accessible to primary and pre-high school age. Our award-winning titles include Perseus, Odysseus, Atalanta, Helen, Jason, Herakles and Theseus. Simon lives and works in Dublin, Ireland and has over twenty-five years experience in teaching Classical history, archaeology and myth. He studied for his Ph.D. at the University of Nottingham, looking at the myths of Jason, Perseus and Bellerophon. The collection has won many book awards for story, design and illustration. In 2018 we were honoured to have the foreword for “Persephone” written by actor, director, comedian and writer, Stephen Fry. Stephen’s recent books include “Mythos” (2017), “Heroes” (2018) and "Troy" (2020)
