Sherry Scarpaci is the mother of two grown children whom she raised with greater success than her houseplants. She's also grandmother to an adorable and heart-melting little girl and an equally adorable and heart-melting little boy. Scarpaci has been writing all of her life, but it wasn't until she returned to school and a teacher said, "I think you can write" that Scarpaci seriously thought of trying to get published. It was a long road, but she finally realized her dream of seeing her work in print when Five Star published "Lullaby" in 2007. Kindle Scout recently released the digital version of "The 13th Victim," first book in a series by Scarpaci featuring Detective Kate Turner. The 13th Victim was a semi-finalist in the East Texas Writers Guild First Chapter Book Awards. Scarpaci has also written non-fiction magazine and newspaper articles. She makes her home in the greater Chicagoland area where she is currently at work on her next Kate Turner mystery. Scarpaci's favorite pastimes are eating Twizzlers (she thinks they should be their own food group), baking, reading, and thinking up new plots and innovative ways to kill people.
