Sharron Gold

Sharron Gold - The British author was a continuity script supervisor for over twenty years on Major European and international films before leaving the film business and moving to a small Austrian village, Hallstatt where she opened a boutique selling fashions and ethnic jewellery that she sourced on her travels, having always managed to spend the European winter months mostly in India where she supported Tibetan refugees. Life was idyllic until her drink was spiked and overnight her life was turned into a living hell. Her continuity background enabled her to record in uncanny precise detail, what she had to endure over the months she was kept drugged. SPIKED is her attempt to expose what happened to her and help prevent it happening to others. This book is important for all of us, to help us become aware of the dangers of an ever increasing use of drugs to commit crimes. Spiked won the Indie book award and The Chanticleer CLUE Awards that recognize emerging new talent and outstanding works in the genre of Thriller, Suspense, and Mystery. FROM THE AUTHOR "I chose to publish my story through amazon, to enable me to use the real, or as close to the real names of my perpetrators. For a long time, afraid of the consequences, I held back the book, until my sense of justice outweighed my fear. I wouldn't sit back and let them get away with it, to do it again and again. Perhaps, some brave or curious journalist might just follow up my story. Perhaps another survivor might find the courage to come forward and support my story. The day I published Spiked, the enormous sense of relief I felt, made me aware of the extent of fear I had till then lived in. They can do what they want to me now. My story is out there. I knew I would face a lot of criticism and prepared myself for the worse. Whenever a new review was added, I'd brace myself before scrolling down to read it. Tears of relief and joy when I read the compassionate reviews and saw that even though what happened to me sounds so far-fetched, the readers didn't doubt that I had gone through this nightmare. Perhaps aware of the fact, that nobody could make up something like this, and if so, would publish it on the more lucrative fiction genre. I have had a fair share of readers that find my story unbelievable. I don't condemn them. I too probably would have done, before I was targeted and my drink was spiked. I was not meant to live to tell the story, but I did. I believe for a reason, to do my best to expose the crooks."
