Sharon Lyon is a geologist, author, and college professor. Ms. Lyon has worked as a paleontologist, a petroleum geologist, and an environmental scientist. However, her greatest passion is teaching and as a Professor of Physical Sciences, she shares her love of geology with her college students. Fossil Woman, her first novel, launched as a #1 Amazon best-seller. The audiobook won an IPBA Benjamin Franklin Silver Award. The second novel in the series, Fossil Thief, launches in 2024. Ms. Lyon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in geology from The College of William and Mary, and a Master of Science degree from The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. She currently resides in Virginia.
