Sebastian Steffens was born in Lübeck, Germany, and liked to write, especially incorrectly, even at school, which resulted in a moderate grade and motivation to take a closer look at writing, which he considered to be a paltry paid art anyway. Instead, he turned to physics, in which, ironically, he eventually earned a doctorate as an astrophysicist, which, while possibly as exciting as writing, is at least twice as paltry paid. Through a chain of coincidences, he eventually became an IT consultant. Through a series of accidents, he did start writing in 2021. He celebrated his first publication with the short story "Leuchtfeuer" (Beacon) in the anthology "Single Malt Weihnacht" (Single Malt Christmas), which resulted from the Baltrum Verlag's call for entries of the same name. The author has a strangely split penchant for science fiction on the one hand and historical material on the other, although he basically considers the present to be quite interesting as well.
