Silena Murrell is an American singer-songwriter, actress and former recording artist of Universal who was signed by Doug Morris, CEO of Universal Music Group in 2004. Silena’s debut single, “Bring It Home” reached number 34 on the Billboard Adult R&B chart. She co-wrote “Bring It Home with her ex-fiancé Scott Storch. Beyoncé also recorded the song and it is also known as “Body Rock”. Silena sang on The Dream’s debut single “Shawty Is a 10,” Aaliyah’s “Journey to the Past” which was featured on the Anastasia film soundtrack and nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture. Silena sang on Tamia’s “Imagination” remix produced by Rorey Benett and has lent vocals to multiple artists including former Destiny Child members LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson, K-Ci and DeVonte of Jodeci, Christopher Williams, and others. Silena has written songs for other artists including the Braxton’s song, “Never Say Goodbye”. She co-starred with Fantasia Barrino, Faith Evans and Nicci Gilbert in the musical film “Soul Kittens Cabaret”. Silena was also an original founding member of the platinum girl group Brownstone.
