Ryan is an independent journalist and writer who specializes in investing, personal finance and business. He's a regular contributor to Fortune Magazine, and his work has been read in MONEY Magazine, The New York Times, CNBC, U.S. News World Report, Fast Company, CNNMoney.com, and the Washington Post Co., among others. He focuses his research on what a business needs and how an investor can succeed with a long timeframe in mind. He doesn't care about get rich quick tactics, which is also why he wrote his first book, "The Everything Guide to Investing in Cryptocurrency." It's a look at how to protect your money, if you're wanting to take a bet into this very new and very risky asset class. It's not meant to serve as a cheerleader for cryptocurrencies, and instead works as an informational tool on what you need to know about the coins and how you can invest safely. Ryan graduated with an English degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and has a Master's in Business Journalism from New York University. He now lives in Long Island - a place he never thought he would live - with his wife, son and two dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys Kansas basketball, Texas football (it's complicated), growing his garden and cooking.
