Roxanne Shoenfeld graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She has nineteen years of nursing experience, including two in the Intensive Care Unit and fourteen in the Emergency Department. Currently, Roxanne is certified as a pediatric, adolescent and adult forensic nurse examiner, and has been working in that capacity for the past five years. She also worked as a Forensic Investigator for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for nine years, performing death investigation in Maryland. Roxanne worked with a hospital-based Domestic Violence program for 7 years, working on the Strangulation Response Project, the Forensic Light Source Project, taking call for the Lethality Line and assisting in the training of Physicians, Nurses and Emergency Medical Service Providers in domestic violence related topics She is on the Steering Committee of the Maryland Healthcare Coalition Against Domestic Violence and is a member at large on the Baltimore County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board. Roxanne attended the National Institute for Strangulation Training and Prevention in San Diego in 2013 and the Master's level Strangulation Course in August, 2018. She educates judges, prosecutors, police, medical personnel, advocates and first responders in the fire department in Maryland on the topic of non-fatal strangulation. She has been married to her husband for 37 years. She has a wonderful daughter and a cat named Reanna.
