Roxane Battle is a popular Twin Cities journalist and author best known for her work as former co-host of the KARE-11(NBC) Today show. Her award-winning self-published memoir, Pockets of Joy: Deciding to Be Happy: Choosing to Be Free, and the Pockets of Joy Journal became best sellers, hitting #1 and #2 back to back in their category on Amazon. Endorsed by New York Times best selling author Tavis Smiley, Pockets of Joy is also the winner of the Midwest Independent Publishing Association's (MIPA) 2015 Midwest Book Award. Pockets of Joy has since been picked up by Whitaker House Publishing and the expanded hard cover edition is due out for national release on September 5, 2017.
Roxane is a gifted writer, video producer and speaker, and frequently gives insightful and humor-filled talks to corporate and faith-based audiences on the topics of mindfulness and finding joy.
Roxane has been a contributing writer and featured Architect of Change on mariashriver.com. She has also been featured in Working Mother and Ebony magazines, the Minneapolis Star Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press. Roxane and her book have also been featured on a every television station in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market as well as a host of radio shows and podcasts.
A native of St. Paul, Roxane is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and completed her graduate degree in journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
