RT Howard (1966-) is an author, journalist and analyst writing on international relations and intelligence issues. His books include 'Power and Glory: France's Secret Wars with Britain and America 1945-2016' (2017); 'Warmongers: How the Leaders of Unnecessary Wars Have Wrecked the Modern World' (2017); 'Operation Damocles: Israel's Secret War Against Hitler's Scientists' (2013), 'The Arctic Gold Rush' (2009) and 'The Oil Hunters' (2008). He has written for organisations such as Chatham House, RUSI, Jane's and IISS and for newspapers like The Wall Street Journal, The National Interest, The Times (London), International Herald Tribune, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, The Independent, The American Conservative and The Guardian. Some reviews: "Excellent... Howard tells a rattling tale, full of slapstick and bloodshed...One chapter, straight from the pages of Graham Greene, recounts a duel between British spies and French officials in post-war Madagascar...The author is good on the vying power centres in Paris (and) Howard's chapter on the Falklands War is a thorough dissection of how these interest groups almost prevailed over Mitterrand's pledge of support to Margaret Thatcher." --The Sunday Times on 'Power and Glory' (23 October 2016) "A wealth of unpublished material...resurrects often forgotten episodes." --Le Monde Diplomatique on 'Power and Glory' (January 2017) "As Howard shows, French diplomacy has been involved in a continuous war of manoeuvre against the Anglo-Saxons. Its existence has rarely been acknowledged, so Howard's study is especially valuable... it also contains a great deal of useful material" --London Review of Books on 'Power and Glory' (16 March 2017) "Howard's book stands out as a model of objectivity and dispassionate analysis in a publishing world where there is far too much sensationalism on such subjects", William Keegan The Tablet "a rewarding read...an interesting and unexpected analysis" Publisher's Weekly "meticulous detail...an excellent book of reference with a wealth of factual detail" Morning Star "the land-grabbing in the Arctic is examined sensibly by Roger Howard" Spectator Selected Articles: 'Oil Price Warfare' (The National Interest, Sept-Oct 2006) http://nationalinterest.org/article/oil-price-warfare1-1223 'An Ode to Oil' (Wall Street Journal 2008) http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122791647562165587.html 'Arctic Mirage' (International Herald Tribune 2009) http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/09/opinion/09iht-edhoward.html?_r=0 'Will The People of Iraq Rise Against Saddam?'
