Welcome to my Amazon author page! Changing lives with Christ's changeless truth is my passion. I've authored 23 books on biblical counseling, equipping counselors, gospel-centered counseling, Christian living, grief, anxiety, sexual abuse recovery, spiritual friendship, the Black church, women in church history, soul care, spiritual direction, and church history. My latest books are Grief: Walking with Jesus, Raising Kids in the Way of Grace, Grief and Your Child, and Consider Your Counsel. Released in September 2017 is Counseling Under the Cross: How Martin Luther Applied the Gospel to Daily Life. Learn how to counsel from master-pastor Martin Luther. Released in 2014 and 2015, are "Gospel Conversations: How to Care Like Christ" and "Gospel-Centered Counseling: How Christ Changes Lives." These books equip you for one-another ministry and biblical counseling. I've authored "Anxiety: Anatomy and Cure." In it readers learn a biblical process for victory in anxiety. "Sexual Abuse: Beauty for Ashes" examines 2 Samuel 13 to present a biblical process for finding Christ's healing hope for sexual abuse. "God's Healing for Life's Losses: How to Find Hope When You're Hurting" journeys with you through biblical stages of grief and growth. In "Equipping Counselors for Your Church" I share a best-practice model for envisioning, enlisting, equipping, and empowering biblical counselors in the local church. I was the editor for and authored chapters in "Christ-Centered Biblical Counseling" which focuses on a theology and methodology of counseling. I was the editor for and authored chapters in "Scripture and Counseling: God's Word for Life in a Broken World," which highlights the sufficiency of Scripture. I was the editor for and authored chapters in "Biblical Counseling and the Church," which equips readers for one-another ministry in the church and community. I'm the author of "Beyond the Suffering: Embracing the Legacy of African American Soul Care and Spiritual Direction." It tells the amazing story of how African Americans turned to Christ to help one another to find hope and healing. I also authored "Sacred Friendships" which tells the often untold stories of over 50 women heroes of church history. My first book was "Soul Physicians: A Theology of Soul Care and Spiritual Direction." It answers life's seven ultimate questions as it provides a theological foundation for biblical counseling. My second book was "Spiritual Friends: A Methodology of Soul Care and Spiritual Direction." It shares 1000s of illustrative vignettes and 100s of role-play exercises to equip to develop 22 biblical counseling skills. I am the Founder and CEO of RPM Ministries. Through RPM, I speak, write, and consult on Christ-centered, church-based, comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally-informed biblical counseling and equipping.
