In 1997 he was involved in an accident in the Air Force Reserves that broke his back. He is now a T8 paraplegic in a wheelchair and is actively involved in working with other disabled individuals through numerous ministries. His book, Better to Be Broken, is a story of triumph over tragedy as a disabled person and as a Christian. A story of faith, family and friends written to offer hope and encouragement to people that are hurting. He and his wife currently live in South Carolina and have devoted their lives to helping others struggling with heartache, disappointment and pointing them to the hope of Jesus Christ.
