Richard Patterson III is a systems architect, author, and community builder whose work is grounded in one governing principle: presence is the leadership — and leadership remains alive only where genuine interest is practiced.
He is the creator of the Kind Legacy Public Domain, a model that releases complete, trauma-informed leadership systems into the public domain while the founder is still living — prioritizing access, dignity, and real-world application over ownership. Through this work, his organization is recognized as the only nonprofit intentionally stewarding four fully developed public-domain leadership frameworks, freely available for communities, volunteers, and organizations to implement without gatekeeping.
Richard is the author of 46 published works spanning leadership systems, healing frameworks, youth and family development tools, journals, and community-centered curricula — collectively organized as a unified Systems Library designed to function independently of the founder.
He is the founder of the Builders of People Initiative, a nonprofit organization focused on trauma-informed, presence-based leadership ecosystems that strengthen volunteers, families, and communities.
