Rev. Dr. Randy Woodley currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Faith and Culture at George Fox Seminary in Portland, Oregon. (Ph.D. Intercultural Studies). Randy is an activist, farmer, and scholar active in ongoing concerns of racism, diversity, eco-justice, reconciliation, ecumenism, inter-faith dialogue, mission, social justice, and Indigenous peoples. He is a Cherokee Indian descendent recognized by the Keetoowah Band. A former Pastor, he continues to be involved in grassroots service/activism and community organizing today, as he has for most of his adult life. Dr. Woodley is a founding board member of NAIITS, the North American Institute for Indigenous Theological Studies. NAIITS, in partnership with George Fox Seminary, began a new Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies degree, which Dr. Woodley initiated and for many years directed. Randy and his wife Edith (Eastern Shoshone/Choctaw) are co-founders and co-sustainers of Eloheh Indigenous Center for Earth Justice (eloheh.org) and Eloheh Farm & Seeds (elohehseeds.com). In 2021 The Woodleys recieved the Ecumenists of the Year Award by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon. Together, the Woodleys developed a uniquely holistic model of service among Native Americans called "Living in a Good Way" out of which grew in 2004, a 50 acre sustainable farm and community called Eloheh Village for Indigenous Leadership. At Eloheh the Woodleys taught sustainability, eco-justice, microeconomics, leadership and appropriate service in mission. In 2008 they were forced to give up their farm and disband their community due to continued violence and political pressure from local White Supremacists. They now host local Native American and other gatherings at their teaching farm in Yamhill, Oregon. Eloheh is a farm, learning center and community.
