Philip Moeller writes the "Ask Phil" Medicare column for the PBS NewsHour website Making Sen$e, reports on aging, health and retirement for Money magazine, and writes for other media outlets. He is also a research fellow at the Center on Aging & Work at Boston College and the founder of, a leading provider of consumer insurance information. Phil was formerly a contributing editor at U. S. News & World Report, where he wrote The Best Life column and co-authored "How to Live to 100," a U. S. News e-book. He began his career as a newspaper business reporter and editor, and has worked for The Baltimore Sun, The Charlotte Observer, The Chicago Sun-Times, The Hartford Business Journal, and The Louisville Courier-Journal.
