Phil Scearce is the son of Sgt. Herman Scearce, a World War II Pacific War veteran. Phil grew up listening to stories about his dad's experiences during the war- a stories that haven't been told until now, about the men and missions of a B-24 Liberator unit in the Pacific. Phil is a 2009 graduate of the Middle Tennessee State University Writer's Loft Program and a member of the Tennessee Writer's Alliance. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Finish Forty and Home is the 2010 Mayborn Literary Non-Fiction Conference First Place Winner for Literary Excellence, awarded by Village Voice Media. Phil lives in Readyville, Tennessee with his wife, Diane, and an orange tabby cat, Guster.
