Peter John Watson is an adventure travel writer and the founder of the outdoor travel blog Atlas & Boots. Specialising in polar travel, he has expedition experience in Greenland, Svalbard, Alaska and Antarctica. A keen trekker and climber, he can usually be found on the trails of the Greater Ranges. He’s visited over 100 countries and all seven continents and is currently focused on climbing the seven summits – the highest mountain on every continent. Five down, two to go... In 2023, he joined the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, a charity responsible for maintaining British heritage on the Antarctic Peninsula, including the southernmost post office at Port Lockroy. In 2025, Peter was selected to join the Port Lockroy team as a wildlife monitor for three months.
