Paul O. Zelinsky’s picture books have won wide acclaim and many awards, including the Caldecott Medal for his retelling of Rapunzel and three Caldecott Honors, for Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, and Swamp Angel. His movable “Wheels on the Bus” has become a perennial favorite among toddlers. He illustrated several chapter books by Beverly Cleary, including her Newbery-winning "Dear Mr. Henshaw." Paul illustrated Kelly Bingham’s "Z is for Moose," which received six starred reviews from the six major star-awarding review journals, and more recently, Emily Jenkin’s "Toys Meet Snow." Known for an extreme variability in artistic style among his books, he says “I think I am recognized for being unrecognizable.” Paul lives with his wife in Brooklyn, New York. They have two grown daughters.
