Patricia "Pat" Boord was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and now resides in Virginia with her husband and two little furry dogs. While most of her life has been spent in Virginia, she still considers Pennsylvania her home. Pat moved to Virginia after accepting a position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1979. Retiring in 2011, Pat turned her attention to competitive powerlifting, especially in the bench press. She reached the pinnacle of competition in 2017 when she won the gold medal at the World Masters Classic Bench Press Championship after achieving five national titles. Pat established Collect Seeds Ministries, LLC, shortly after the release of her first book "Bench Pressing Threads of Faith." In keeping with Christ’s command for her to “Collect Seeds,” she expanded her service to God by speaking, writing, and fulfilling God’s Cross Project, in which she shares small olive wood crosses with whomever God places in her path. Frequently sought as a speaker and retreat leader, Pat shares her love for the Lord and the specifics of her faith’s development through her most frequently requested “Faith Journey Workshop.” She continues to write and uses God’s lessons in her writings and speaking. According to Pat, “I’m a sinner and God still has a lot of work to do in me. If I can spare at least one person from stubbing his toe or tripping over the same roots I encountered on my journey with the Lord, then it was worth it. After all, we’re all one body in Christ and are here to learn, not only from God, but from each other as well.”
