Dr. Nicola McFadzean Ducharme is the founder and medical director of RestorMedicine, an integrative medical center based in San Diego, CA. Having done her naturopathic training and completed her Bachelor of Health Sciences (Naturopathy) in Australia, she moved to the United States and obtained her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine, starting a private practice in 2003. Dr. Nicola is a Lyme-literate Naturopathic Physician, combining conventional and integrative approaches to treating Lyme and other tick-borne illness. She is a member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) and completed the ILADS Training Program in 2006 under the mentorship of Steven Harris, MD. Dr. Nicola is the author of Lyme Brain: The Impact of Lyme Disease On Your Brain and How To Recover Your Smarts, The Lyme Diet: Nutritional Strategies for Healing From Lyme Disease, Beginners Guide to Lyme Disease: Diagnosis and Treatment Made Simple, and Lyme Disease in Australia: Fundamentals of an Emerging Epidemic. She is a chapter contributor to Connie Strasheim’s book Insights into Lyme Disease Treatment: 13 Lyme-literate Practitioners Share Their Healing Strategies. She conducts clinics in Australia twice a year, helping Lyme-sufferers navigate the testing and treatment options for tick-borne illness; and is a Medical Advisor to the Lyme Disease Association of Australia.
