Mumtaz Ahmed is the Chief Strategy Officer of Deloitte LLP, responsible for developing strategy for a broad professional services footprint and for defining Deloitte's strategic positioning. He is also responsible for corporate development, innovation, eminence, brand, communications, and knowledge management. He has worked closely with many leading telecommunications and technology companies, advising on strategy, corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, consumer and business segment operations, and network technology. With Michael Raynor and others, Mumtaz has coauthored several articles that focus on the factors contributing to superior corporate performance. His thought leadership has appeared in Harvard Business Review, Ivey Business Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and other leading publications, including Deloitte Review. Born and raised in Pakistan, Mumtaz qualified as an engineer and an accountant in the UK and joined the Canadian firm in 1982. He established the consulting practice in Hong Kong during 1993-1999 and moved to San Francisco in 1999.
