Upon graduating high school at 17 years old, Monique Hall moved to Augusta, Georgia to attend Paine College as an All American athlete on a full basketball scholarship in the early 1990s. Having no guidance, she later became involved with the wrong crowd and met her then-boyfriend who was a drug dealer and key component to one of the largest drug cartels in the US, unbeknownst to Hall. After a drug deal gone bad, Monique was kidnapped and forced to witness the murder of her godbrother by her boyfriend and his accomplice. Losing both her godbrother and her lover caused Monique to quickly spiral out of control, and she turned to drinking and negative influences, landing her in jail. Monique penned her first novel, "Two Tears in A Bucket '' while completing a prison sentence. This fictional depiction based on her true story sheds light on how young love turned tragically wrong, resulting in 44 felonies. The best-selling novel garnered national attention and caught the eye of New York Times Best Selling Author, Nikki Turner, who quickly signed a book deal with Monique and Nikki Turner Imprints under the umbrella of Random House Publications. Upon signing with the publishing giant, Monique has written and ghostwritten many best-selling novels. In 2010 she and her partner, Rodney, created MBP Publications in an effort to publish all genres and give seasoned as well as new authors a place to launch their literary projects in both paperback and e-book/digital format Monique has since worked with several celebrities, reality stars, and authors, creating literary activations with actor/rapper/ philanthropist Common, Grammy-winning singer Anthony Hamilton, media mogul and world-renowned speaker Devon Franklin, Megan Good, J Prince, Freeway Rick Ross, Dr. Cornel West, Momma Dee of "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta", Tashera Simmons, wife of DMX, andSex Traffic, and Prison Reform Advocate Cyntoia Brown. Holding many accolades she is also the founder of the MBP Presents: Road to Essence- a mass book signing featuring NYT Best Selling and Independent Authors held annually during the Essence Festival in New Orleans. In 2016 she opened Book Boutique in metro Atlanta, the largest black-owned bookstore in the US, where she hosts book signings, speaking engagements, political forums, children storytime, and community outreach. She is slated to open multiple locations within the next three years. She has recently partnered with RAM Studios, who has produced and worked heavily with many producers and screenwriters. Her company has 4 films slated for 2020 and early 2021. She is starring in a docu-series "Living My Best Life", that chronicles her return to her alma mater to continue her education and sports career at the age of 48, showing it's never too late to pursue your dreams, Monique has become known as "The Connect" in the literary world; she's very well connected with many high-level executives. Since 2017 she has consistently made over $1.4 million dollars, yet she handles her role very well. Her favorite quote: "Always humble, never taking anything for granted."
