Mintie Das was born in India, raised in the US and now lives in Helsinki, Finland. She spent her childhood following her UN Dad around the world. As a result, Mintie is permanently infected with the travel bug and loves to discover new places. She combined her thrill of adventure and corporate PR/marketing experience by working for a UN consulting agency for the last ten years, organizing international symposiums in Dubai, Hungary, India, Malta, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Sweden, US, etc. Mintie's lifelong dream to write came true with her debut novel Storm Sisters: The Sinking World. It will be translated into seven languages and drop in nearly twenty countries this year. The Sinking World is the first book in the Storm Sisters pentalogy, which follows five fierce girl pirates sailing the high seas in the 1780s. Mintie has just completed the second book, Storm Sisters: The Frozen Seas. Currently, Mintie is writing the third book in the series, Storm Sisters: Ocean of Secrets. (Don't worry, she planned out the entire story years ago and hates plot holes!) Mintie collaborated with Rovio, makers of Angry Birds, to create Storm Sisters. Bastei Luebbe published the English and German versions of The Sinking World. While girl power and girl pirates are definitely awesome, Mintie's head is filled with lots of stories that she's eager to share. Her next two series feature another couple of kickass female heroines, Dream Heroes & Brown Girl. Mintie also writes for games which she finds to be a wild, crazy storytelling platform.
