Millicent (Millie) Sutton is a pediatrician, mother and a first-time children's book author. She lives in Westchester County in New York. As an extremely imaginative and curious child growing up in the rural south, she often dreamt of distant, faraway places, entertained herself conjuring up fantastical scenarios and creating stories around songs and music she heard on the radio. Old African American folklore and her love of the great American Short Story was her introduction to creative writing and storytelling. But it was the simple nightly bedtime reading rituals with her daughter, Sara, rekindling a love of classic children tales that began her foray into children's literature.
