Mike Smith is a licensed architect and runs an architectural firm called Michael Smith, Architect. He as designed everything from small residential additions to large custom residences and a couple of 3-story office buildings. He brings his problem-solving skills that he has learned from his varied experience to every project. He has made and watched others make, all (well almost all) the mistakes you can make when building or remodeling your home. He shares his problem-solving ideas and techniques in his blog. Mike cannot design and work all the projects he would like, so he also runs a publishing and marketing company in San Luis Obispo, CA that provides information and tips to homeowners who are thinking about building a new home or remodel their existing home. He is a store-house useless trivia and loves biking through the hills of California’s Central Coast. When he is not designing and building, Mike lives in San Luis Obispo with his wife Mona and his four children: Kyle, Maddie, Kaylee, & Michael.
