Michael Prescott is the author of nineteen books, with total sales of his e-books alone now totaling in the tens of thousands. Mr. Prescott writes in many different genres, including true crime, suspense, horror, short stories, and mainstream literary fiction. Among his most popular works are A DIMLY LIT TRUTH, GOING SOMEWHERE, DEEP COLD (eight stories and one novella), OUT OF IOWA, BREATHLESS, AND FOR THE SAKE OF THE KIDS, THE FORTUITOUS DEATH OF DR. ALFRED W. PRESTON, and A SHORT STAY IN AMSTERDAM. Since January 1, 2015, Mr. Prescott has released a half-dozen new books, including his latest collection of stories (twenty in all), CALL ME ANYTIME, and a small book of poems entitled DECADES. Of these, five were published in a thirty-six hour period between July 28-30, 2015, a cycle of time Mr. Prescott has decided to affectionately dub (with tongue firmly in cheek) "a Renaissance of Prescott." Mr. Prescott's hobbies include tennis, skiing, chess, watching good films, exploring philosophical and metaphysical topics (he was a philosophy major in college), and, of course, reading avidly. His favorite authors include Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., Breece D'J Pancake, Stephen King, John Irving, Raymond Carver, Raymond Chandler, John Cheever, Augusten Burroughs, David Foster Wallace, Michael Chabon, Dave Eggers, Pearl S. Buck, J.K. Rowling, Kathryn Stockett, and Denise Giardinia. Among his literary heroes he counts most of the usual suspects: Hemingway, Fitzgerald (perhaps his favorite of all time), Faulkner, Steinbeck, Graham Greene, Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen Crane, Ralph Ellison, Aldous Huxley, Kerouac, Mailer, Updike, and Philip Roth. NOTE: Please do not confuse Mr. Prescott with Michael J. Prescott, who sells 99-cent erotica e-books by the pound (so to speak). His books tend to be intermingled with Mr. Prescott's in Amazon's search results, as well as those of another, wholly different Michael Prescott.
