Michael Chestnut spent years in ministry living a double life, and it ended one morning with a detective and an FBI agent standing at his front door.
He was a pastor’s kid. He was also a man carrying childhood abuse he had never told a soul about, and a pornography addiction that had taken him places he swore he would never go. When it came out, he lost his ministry, his marriage, his reputation, and nearly his life. He spent months in and out of psychiatric hospitals in four or five states. He got on a plane to his parents’ house in Pensacola with nothing but the clothes he was wearing, and the only prayer he could get out was three words. Holy Spirit, please.
It took fifteen years to rebuild. Not a turnaround, a rebuild. Counseling, accountability, relapse, and a handful of men who kept showing up for him anyway.

Michael has served in ministry for over 21 years as a youth minister, music director, and associate pastor. For more than 13 years he worked inside Florida corrections, teaching men on their way out of prison how to build a life on the outside. Today he hosts The Intentional Guy Podcast, coaches Christian men, and leads at Celebrate Recovery in Pensacola, Florida.
He and his wife Amber have children and grandchildren. Their marriage did not start clean either, and that is part of the testimony, not a footnote to it.
He will tell you straight that he did not fully understand what it meant to walk with God until he was brought to his knees. The grace, forgiveness, and hope he found there are too powerful not to share.
