Over the last twelve years, Mark Burns has developed a proven track record in improving teaching and leadership in education. He’s co-authored two best-selling books in this field. Both have been translated into several other languages. More recently, he has worked with FTSE100 retailer and third sector organisations, to develop the quality and impact of their learning and development programmes. Through his work, he has developed a deep understanding of learning design, how to overcome the barriers to learning in organisations and strategies to maximise the impact of learning on growing performance. His most recent co-authored book, ‘The Learning Imperative’ won HR and Management category at the Business Book Awards 2019. Mark's work has won a Gold Award at the Learning Performance Institute's Learning Awards 2021 for People Development Programme (Public Sector) and also the Teach Secondary CPD Award 2020. He was also a finalist in the CIPD People Management Awards 2018 for Best Learning & Development initiative in Public/Third Sector.
