After marrying her high school sweetheart, James O'Leary, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to raise their two sons and live near her parents. Her professional life has included teaching, practicing law, and professional coaching. She spends time playing bluegrass music with her sister, Helen, and traveling the Southwest and Hawaii.
