Marcio Anselmo graduated in law from the State University of Londrina. He joined the Federal Police as a clerk in 2004, stationed in Guaíra, and has since been actively involved in investigating financial crime, corruption, and money laundering. He worked on the Banestado case in Brasília, and led the investigations on Operation Faktor, around which time he completed his master’s degree. While working on the investigations that gave rise to Operation Car Wash, he studied for a doctorate in international law at the University of São Paulo. From 2018 to 2020, he occupied the post of coordinator-general of the corruption and money laundering unit. He teaches postgraduate courses in Brazil and has published various books and papers on organized crime and money laundering.
