Luis López Nieves irrumpió de manera espectacular en el ambiente literario en el 1984 al publicar su relato histórico "Seva", que se convirtió en un inmenso éxito literario. Ha recibido el Premio Nacional de Literatura en dos ocasiones: en el 2000 por su libro de cuentos "La verdadera muerte de Juan Ponce de León" y en el 2005 por su novela "El corazón de Voltaire", aclamada por la crítica literaria internacional como una de las novelas más originales del siglo XXI. En el 2009 su novela "El silencio de Galileo" recibió importantes elogios en tres continentes y fue premiada por el Instituto de Literatura como la mejor novela del año. En el 2011 el periódico "El Nuevo Día" proclamó "El corazón de Voltaire" como "Uno de los diez mejores libros de la década". López Nieves es el fundador de CiudadSeva.com, uno de los portales ciberliterarios más visitados del mundo. Es doctor en Literatura Comparada. En el 2004 fundó el primer programa de Maestría en Creación Literaria de Latinoamérica en la Universidad del Sagrado Corazón (San Juan de Puerto Rico), el cual dirigió hasta el 2019. Desde el 2007 hasta el 2019 fue escritor residente de la misma universidad. Sus obras han sido traducidas al alemán, francés, inglés, islandés, neerlandés, polaco, italiano, rumano, portugués y belaruso. Es autor de los libros "Seva" (1984), "Escribir para Rafa" (1987), "La verdadera muerte de Juan Ponce de León" (2000), "El corazón de Voltaire" (2005) y "El silencio de Galileo" (2009).

Luis Lopez Nieves made a spectacular entrance onto the literary scene in 1984 when he published his historical narrative "Seva", which became an immediate and huge success. He has won the National Literature Award twice - first in 2000 for his book of historical short stories "The True Death of Juan Ponce de León" and then again in 2005 for his novel "Voltaire's Heart", acclaimed by international literary critics as one of the most original novels of the 21st century. In 2009, his novel "Galileo's Silence" received high praise on three continents and was declared Best Novel of the Year by the Institute of Literature. In 2011, the newspaper "El Nuevo Día" recognized "Voltaire' Heart" as "one of the ten best books of the decade". López Nieves is the founder of CiudadSeva.com, one of the most visited literary websites in the world. He has a doctorate in Comparative Literature and in 2004 founded the Master's Program in Creative Writing at Sacred Heart University (San Juan, Puerto Rico), the first of its kind in Latin America, for which he served as Program Director until 2019. He also served as Writer-in-Residence of the University from 2007 to 2019. His works have been translated into German, French, English, Icelandic, Dutch, Polish, Italian, Romanian, Portuguese, and Belarusian.
