Lucy Cooke is a New York Times best-selling author, award-wining filmmaker and National Geographic explorer with a Masters in zoology from Oxford University (where she was taught by Richard Dawkins). She loves travel and adventure and has a soft spot for some of the planet's strangest and most misunderstood animals. She once spent 6 months travelling around South America by herself (under the guise of the Amphibian Avenger) to raise awareness about the rapid extinction of the world's amphibians and she founded the Sloth Appreciation Society to promote a greater understanding of her "animal muse" the sloth. As well as writing books, Lucy is also an accomplished photographer, filmmaker and broadcaster who has produced and presenter of award-winning natural history documentaries for BBC, Nat Geo, Discovery, PBS and many more. Lucy lives in a suitcase but spends much of her time in London and Hastings in the UK.
