Lese Dunton is an author, reporter, editor, and award-winning essayist. She has worked for The New York Daily News, The New York Post, and CBS-Television, and started the online newspaper, The New Sun. Her latest book, "Stories from Childhood and Beyond” is a collection of personal essays. She is also the creator of the series, "Charlotte's New York Adventure," which has 3 books so far and is illustrated by Ena Hodzic. In the first Charlotte book, "A Girl With a Mission," a young girl lets go of fear and self-doubt and teams up with the Statue of Liberty and the Angel of Central Park. In the second one, "A Meeting in Midtown," the world leaders are coming to town but have no fear, Charlotte and her friends come to the rescue. In the 3rd book, "A Girl Takes the Lead," Charlotte becomes the Mayor of New York and magically everything gets better. Is she dreaming? Additionally, Ms. Dunton has written an ebook called "Simple Advice for a Happy Life." The best thing about it is that Raggedy Ann and Andy creator, Johnny Gruelle, is the illustrator. Lese's other books include "Betsy and the Golden Room," a magical adventure story, and "Mystics in the City," a series of interviews on spiritual topics (what do you think happens after we pass on, and other fun subjects). Her articles have appeared in The New York Daily News, The New York Post, Westside Rag, The Spirit, Edible Manhattan, and Celebrate With Style. Her short stories have been published in the collection book "Christmas Through the Eyes of a Child" and in a dozen audiobooks for Reading Town publishers. Lese is the founder The New Sun, on online publication whose mission is "to find the best in life and give it good coverage." She began publishing on newsprint in 1990, raised capital, and brought it to the web in 1994. People magazine said, "It has caught the eye of high-placed optimists." In her work with The New Sun, she has interviewed George Harrison, Pulitzer Prize-winner Jimmy Breslin, President Jimmy Carter, John McEnroe, Judy Collins, and many others, while simultaneously editing the publication. In addition to People magazine, she has been featured on CNN, NY1-TV, WOR-TV, and National Public Radio. In 2005, she produced and hosted The New Sun Radio Show on WBAI FM Radio. She has held a variety of positions including writer, editor, artist, and producer for CBS Television, The Village Voice, The New York Daily News, The New York Post, and The Wall Street Journal. She was also Director of Communications for The Riverside Church.
