Laura Mucha

Laura Mucha is an ex-lawyer and award-winning poet, writer and speaker. Her first book, Love Factually / We Need to Talk About Love is the result of ten years of interviews with hundreds of strangers aged 8-95 across every continent, together with extensive academic research. Richard Curtis describes it "as much better and more useful than my film". Laura has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, WNYC, ABC and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, and The Guardian describes her as “a fantastic nosy parker”. Laura also writes for children and has won two international prizes for children’s poetry. Her poems have been featured on BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and published widely around the world. In 2018 Poetry Ireland featured her alongside Jackie Kay as one of eight poets on the Dublin overground and in 2019, Poems in the Waiting Room selected her poetry to be distributed to medical centres, rest homes, hospices and prisons around New Zealand. Her debut collection, Dear Ugly Sisters is out in 2020, and her debut picture book, Rita’s Rabbit in 2021. You can read, listen and watch her work at lauramucha.com. @lauramucha
