"Any obstacle can be overcome. It's all about attitude and never giving up. I love the underdog. I also like to write in several different genres from children's fantasy to equestrian fiction and especially cozy mysteries with a comedic bent. What can I say, my sense of humor is a bit twisted, which I attribute to the British side of my family and growing up a back stage brat in Music Hall Theatre. I try to write stories that aren't predictable with characters that readers can relate to. My YA and children's fiction is very Hallmark/Disney oriented, while my adult fiction is definitely a bit naughty. If you think you know who dunnit, you're wrong...that I can guarantee," says author, Laura Hesse. Laura left big city life to pursue a career in forestry after graduating as one of only ten women in a sea of over 150 men in 1982. She was one of the first two women to be hired on a helitack crew in the Province of Alberta. When an outhouse became a luxury item, Laura knew it was time to move on. While her passion is still horses, her beloved Fjord mare, Pumpkin Sally, and paint stallion, Add a Patch, have now passed over the rainbow, but their spirit live on in the pages of Laura's novels.
